Congratulations to David Sticca, named the Australian Handball Player of the Year 2009

David Sticca has had tremendous handball career to date having numerous

All Australian Team Selections and having won multiple Australia open Titles. He has excelled in the three forms of the game to have a great 2009 season and is a very worthy winner of the inaugural 2009 Australian Handball Champion Player of the Year. For the records, since the 3 Wall Australian Open in Sydney until the end of the 2009 year David has been place at No. 1 in the rankings for a total of 32 weeks.

Also congratulation to Dylan King, to be runner up, one point off from David is an outstanding effort and who for 6 weeks was No 1 which he achieved after a tremendous effort in the 4 Wall Australian Open  but lost the top position when David won the One Wall  Australian Open in late August 2009.

The point system that has been set up is a consistent formula used through the three different forms of the game. They have been initially formatted in the three separate forms of One Wall - Three Wall – Four Wall and then in an Overall Combined Ranking.

The current points will be carried over for the 2010 season and player ranking points will awarded from the four AHC Tournaments played throughout that year.

1          Australian Day Teams Event (Bowral – NSW)

2          Open Australian 3 Wall Championships (Adelaide -SA)

3          Open Australian 4 Wall Championships (Melbourne –Vic)

4          Open Australian One Wall Championships (Sydney –NSW)
